A new snowboarder from Denali, Alaska, has gone viral after a selfie with a snowboard on his back is shared on social media
Denali has long been an alpine wonderland with spectacular snow-covered mountains, and now, a new snow boarder from Alaska has captured the imagination of thousands of people on social networks.
The snowboard rider, whose name is James “Bucky” Moore, was a regular on the Denali Mountain Resort’s board-skiing team, where he won a gold medal in 2016.
“Bobby is a true alpinist,” said Steve “J.T.”
Williams, the resort’s CEO, in a statement.
“He is the best snowboarders I’ve ever seen on a snow board.”
Moore’s snowboard ride began with a video on YouTube of him riding through the snow on his way to his first-ever snowboard competition in the resort.
“It was just a really beautiful day, a little chilly but it was just amazing to see the snow,” Moore said.
Moore and his friend, Nathan “Maz” Smith, decided to make the video public, and after watching a few other YouTube videos of snowboardists, they decided to take a shot.
They went to Denali and took the photos they had on their phones and posted them to Facebook, sharing them on the resort and on Twitter.
The photos quickly gained attention on the internet, where people loved seeing their photos, and Moore’s photo soon began trending on Twitter, with many commenting on how much they liked his snowboard.
“I’m still in disbelief at how much people liked it,” Moore told The Huffington Post.
“This is like one of those things that I’m just really proud of.
This is really something I’m very excited about.”
After posting a few more pictures, Moore went back to the resort to see how many people were still looking at his photos and asked them if they wanted to take some more.
“We were sitting on the roof looking down at the mountains and there was just so much snow,” he said.
“And people were just like, ‘Oh my God, you’ve got a snowboards on your back?'”
The photos of the snowboard riding and the photos of Moore with a backpack of snowboarding gear have racked up more than 100,000 likes on Instagram and Twitter.
“A guy posted a picture of him on a ski board, and people were like, Wow, this guy is incredible,” Moore added.
“When people were looking at it, it just seemed so natural.”
Moore said the snowboarding and snowboarding snowboard videos were the best way he could have gotten his photo on the Internet.
“People are looking at the photos and it just feels like it’s so natural,” he added.
After the first snowboarding video of Moore’s went viral, he said he was getting more and more calls from people asking him to be their guest on their next snowboarding trip to Denalis.
“One of my friends in the U.K. was doing a ski trip in Alaska, and he was thinking about coming to Denalaskas, and I just thought, Why not?” he said in a video that was posted to his Facebook page.
“There are so many things to do in Alaska and the mountains.
So I’m not going to say no to that.
But it’s something I just have to do and it’s the right thing to do.”
After he got the call, Moore said he got on the snowboards in the parking lot, climbed up on one of the boards and took off.
“All I wanted to do was get up and get down,” he recalled.
“So I did it, and it was amazing.”
Moore went on to win a bronze medal at the 2017 World Snowboard Championships in the World Snowboarding Championships in Italy.
“If it wasn’t for the video, it would have never reached the number of people who liked it and liked the photos,” he told HuffPost.
“The response has been amazing.
The people who watched the video and liked it are amazing.”
The video of him snowboarding with his friend has since gone viral.
Moore’s Facebook post about the snow board ride has garnered more than 12 million likes, and there is even a hashtag for his snowboarding videos: #SnowboarderBucky.
The #SnowboardingerBuckys hashtag has since been shared more than 1 million times.
