Anti-Trump protesters arrested at Arizona airport
Activists and supporters of Donald Trump have been arrested at an airport in the state of Arizona as anti-Trump protests spread nationwide.
According to police, protesters at Phoenix International Airport in Arizona were chanting and demanding the resignation of US President Donald Trump.
“People are protesting because they’re disgusted with Trump’s administration,” said Marissa Perez, an organizer with the group Arizona Rising.
“He’s trying to put his own people back in the position they were in before the Great Recession.”
Protesters say they are upset about the fact that Trump has made controversial comments, including his call for a temporary ban on Muslims entering the United States.
“He’s an embarrassment to America,” Perez said.
“We’re here to make a statement, and we’re here because we don’t want Trump to continue to run the country.”
Police arrested more than a dozen people, including people wearing masks, as the demonstrators continued to occupy the airport.
Police say the protesters were part of a protest against Trump’s policies.
