Air conditioning lines to close for 24 hours in Austin
Air conditioning line operators in the southern suburbs of Austin will close for about 24 hours as temperatures rise.
Airconditioner operators say the heat is expected to reach 40 degrees Celsius (98.6 degrees Fahrenheit) by early afternoon on Friday.
Air conditioning lines in the area were installed in the city in late 2013 to help residents avoid the heat during the Christmas holidays.
The closure is part of a temporary measure to help reduce air pollution caused by the summer heat.
The Austin Air Quality Management District says the temporary closure is expected through the week.
